Benyounes Quartet, Winners of the 2012 1st International Sandor Vegh Quartet Competition in Budapest, the quartet is gaining a reputation as one of the most engaging, dynamic and successful young quartets to have emerged from the UK in recent years. Formed in 2007 at the Royal Northern College of Music, the quartet went on to win the Royal Philharmonic Society’s prestigious Julius Isserlis Scholarship and won the esteemed Prix d’Excellence at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve. In 2013 they held a residency at St. John’s Smith Square. They currently hold a residency at Bangor University.
David Campbell, clarinet. Described by the late Jack Brymer as ‘the finest player of his generation’, David is internationally recognized as one of Britain’s finest musicians. Much of his earlier career was spent as a member of Sir Peter Maxwell Davies’s chamber ensemble. Over recent years he has developed both solo and chamber music careers, performing in over 40 countries with leading orchestras and ensembles. |
