In his teens, Manus (who is from Ireland) studied with Craig Ogden, who gave us such a memorable concert two years ago. He then went on to the Royal College of Music, and then the Royal Academy. Embarking on his career, he soon drew the highest critical praise: “Another future star was sighted” said The Times. His interest in pushing the technical boundaries of his instrument attracted the attention of composers and led to him giving six world premieres in 2012 alone. A programme note said “his masterly playing, his incredible range of tone colours and his warm stage presence drew us all into his music making”.
